Biography

Michael Black has a BSc in Biological Chemistry and a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. After a Post Doc with Professor Katritzky at the University of Florida, USA he entered the pharmaceutical industry as an API NCE development chemist at Boots Pharmaceuticals UK. Following this he was a product Manager for bulk Ibuprofen at Knoll Pharmaceuticals, Germany. In the next step he was a technical sales Manager for actives and excipients at BASF in Germany. He then joined the Phosphate manufacturer Budenheim and was responsible for the pharma Business, with a particular focus on innovation and novel technical medical applications. Since 2014 he is Head of Sales Pharma at Beneo and is responsible for the innovative pharmaceutical excipient polyol galenIQ(TM).
