Biography

Professor Damien Thompson is Professor of Molecular Modelling at University of Limerick and Director of SSPC the Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) National Research Centre for Pharmaceuticals. He leads a research team in computational design of advanced materials at the Bernal Institute at University of Limerick. His group partners with world leading experimental and industry partners in the development of a range of nano-enabled products for health and sustainability. Current interests include biomolecule dynamics and peptide assembly inside cells. He has authored >140 articles, publishing regularly in leading journals including Nature, Nature Materials, and Nature Nanotechnology.
