Biography

Dr Holland has over 25 years’ experience of optical spectroscopy, beginning with a doctorate from the University of Oxford. Since joining HORIBA he initially worked as an applications engineer on a variety of optical spectroscopy techniques, from a novel method of fluorescence quantum yield measurement through display characterisation for the entertainment industry to Raman imaging for amongst others pharmaceutical formulation and counterfeit analysis. Today he and his team provide detailed measurement advice to HORIBA’s customers and develop new applications methods for a wide range of markets based on Raman, fluorescence, absorption nanoRaman and particle sizing technologies.
